I'm not sure how long the nightly run takes to be honest.
Actually the full backup sounds a lot more like my solutions. The only thing is
that it takes quite a lot of resources from the server, load averages are about
1.0-1.4 during the process and this is server is only partly used for
production so the load averages will get even higher still. I changed the
/etc/cron.d/dirvish file to start running at 1 am so the high loads on the
server shouldn't do any harm for our clients.
Now I got to start looking at the expiry process and when it runs. After that I
will distribute this same backup-method to all of our servers.
BTW. how do you do your mysql-backup? Filebased or do you run mysql-dump every
now and then?
