Is cron even set up to email you the output of its jobs? On my system (Kubuntu 9.10) it took a little fiddling to make that work. When working properly, cron automatically emails all program output (stdout and stderr), so you can test it pretty easily by putting "echo test123" as a job in your crontab. As for whether dirvish is making the backups, you can check /[path to bank]/[vault]/dirvish/default.hist for a complete list of backups that dirvish thinks are present in the vault. You can also go into the vault and just look at what folders exist. If a folder exists with the datestamp you want, then go into it and check out the "summary" file. The last line in the file, for a completed backup, should be: "Status: success". You can also look at the log file in that folder to see more details of what it did during that snapshot. Hope that helps. -Andy _______________________________________________ Dirvish mailing list [email protected] http://www.dirvish.org/mailman/listinfo/dirvish
