Good points!
More importantly, WE have resellers for whom we have 
prepared a completely customized interface - hence
there are domains registered through us but it is actually
a second level affiliate deal


it would be super if we have the capability to either turn
off or modify Whois reseller output if the domain has Affiliate
ID - that would make Our Affiliates very happy and reduce
the possibility of loosing the volume account

Just like we modify confirmation emails on domains registered
through affiliate - perhaps the same area could contain whois
output modification
