Here's a more detailed answer to your question...as a note, I realize that
many of us hate to read documentation (yes, it can be painful), but I
believe that many of your questions will be covered in the documentation or
the http://resellerhelp.tucows.com site. Of course, i'm happy to answer any
questions to help you along though...

The term "per user" does mean "per email address for which you purchase the
Email Defense Service". So for example:

The following example illustrates charges for Email Defense for one domain,
all features, for 10 users.

Anti-Spam Per Email Defense User = $0.30 per month
Anti-Virus Per Email Defense User = $0.15 per month
Content/Attachment Filtering Per Email Defense User = $0.10 per month
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Total Per Email Defense User = $0.55

If there were 10 Email Defense Users on the domain, the total monthly cost
would = $0.55 x 10 users = $5.50 per month

A couple other important notes (that are found in documentation at:
http://rrc.tucows.com/documentation

1. Also, keep in mind that all email addresses on the domain do NOT have to
have purchased filtering. For example, if you were an ISP with one domain
(e.g., ispname.com), you may wish to offer this service as an upgrade to
your subscriber base. For those who have purchased filtering, their mail
would be filtered based on the domain's Email Defense features (e.g.,
anti-spam, anti-virus, content/attachment filtering), while email addresses
that haven't purchased the service would still have their mail flow through
the Email Defense Service (i.e., as it must because the MX record for
ispname.com must point all mail to the Email Defense Service), however their
mail would not be filtered. The mail for email addresses that have not
subscribed to the service would simply flow through to the destination mail
server without being spam filtered.

2. The Email Defense features for a domain apply to all Email Defense Users
for the domain. A different feature set cannot be specified for an
individual Email Defense user. For example [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
[EMAIL PROTECTED] must both have anti-spam and anti-virus if these were the
features for the domain.

3. There is no additional charges based on email traffic, spam traffic, etc.

4. Domain aliases are free with the service and may be added directly in the
Email Defense Portal by the reseller using an Email Defense Reseller Admin
User (domain admins can't add domain aliases). For example, if I purchased
ispname.com through OpenSRS, I could then go in and add ispname.org,
ispname.net and anotherispname.com in the Email Defense Portal. There is no
limit to the number of domain aliases.

5. User aliases are free (limit of 5 per Email Defense User) with the
service and may be added directly in the Email Defense Portal by the
reseller using an Email Defense Reseller Admin User or an Email Defense
Service Domain Administrator. Also, by default Email Defense End Users may
also create their own user alias if you have enabled "Allow recipients to
set an Email Defense Portal password (i.e., enables direct login to the
portal versus only using the report)" and user aliasing is enabled for the
domain, which it is by default. User aliases may limits (0-5) and
enabled/disabled by an Email Defense Service Reseller Admin or Email Defense
Service Domain Admin.

6. The limit of 5 user aliases per Email Defense Users does not include any
end user aliases that are automatically created for you when you add a
domain alias. So you may have 5 user aliases on the primary domain and
those 5 user aliases would automatically be created for you on the domain
aliases.

Subject: Email Defense service

 Hi,
For the Email Defense service, I read the following pricing:

  * Anti-spam (default feature) $0.30 per user per month

  * Upgrade: Anti-virus (Sophos) $0.15 per user per month

  * Upgrade: Content & Attachment Filtering $0.10 per user per month

What does Tucows call "per user"?
- Is it the sender of Spam? Each address sending spam is charged for
example $0.30 per month for Anti-Spam feature?
- Is it the domain name? Each domain name using Email Defense service is
charged for example $0.30 per month for Anti-Spam feature?
- Is it the spam email? Each blocked email spam is charged for example
$0.30 per month for Anti-Spam feature?

Thanks to let me know
