The fact that people are proposing making audio files available so people will know how to pronounce the name is a great illustration of how bad the name is.
Many of the times I recommend OpenOffice to people, I do so orally. I don't see the day when I would want to recommend LO orally. I think most people's response would be, "What did you say?".
