OpenID is convenient but many Open Source users don't want to open an account with the "big sharks" to be able to have an universal login. Having to register with TDF/LibreOffice (again!) completely defeats the concept of a universal login. BrowserID seems to be the only company independent universal login. You just need to have an email account. Any email account will do.
