Hi Jerry, I remember seeing this before, I appreciate the link!
I normally pick up software from a trusted source. Prebuilt svr4 packages with source from Steven Christensen at his http://sunfreeware.com/ site. I will investigate. I have added your information regarding olvwm to the X tab on my blog. Other information was also consolidated. I am consolidating various sources and will post results to the network management blog on 12/05 about zfs on embedded devices. It looks like it can get down to a few megabytes on the ARM port. I remember there being other blogs about small Solaris, so much is hard to find when Sun blogs migrated to Oracle and some old references were killed off. Many thanks, David http://netmgt.blogspot.com/ Sent from my iPhone On Nov 23, 2011, at 12:57 AM, Jerry Kemp <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello David, > > Are you aware that there is a complete olvwm/Openwin package for Solaris > 10 on freshmeat.net, assuming that is the direction you need to go? > > Or, given your embedded system platform, is TWM an option for you? > > ........................ > > Also, in reference to your ZFS comment below, and quoting the same 2009 > thread, there was discussion of something called CZFS that is part of > the ARM Solaris port. > > This is a verbatim quote from Darren Moffat from that discussion - > > "Again see the ARM project there is an alternate build of ZFS called > CZFS which is specifically for limited memory configurations.
