I have a small VPS running Alpine Linux and it's serving a low traffic website.
I wanted to switch it to Tribblix which still supports installing into UFS as I
don't need ZFS. But illumos UFS is neglected for too long. It's not a viable
option.

I would love to have FreeBSD UFS ported to illumos and replacing illumos UFS.
Who said illumos is only for large servers? I think my use case is valid. There
are ongoing efforts to port illumos to ARM and RISCV. But why no one see the
need of upgrading illumos UFS? Imagine you have to run ZFS on a 4GB RAM ARM
SoC. You would better go with UFS. A maintained contemporary UFS.
