Hi,

We were considering doing this for our application, but decided not to
in the end. After doing some research and user interviews we found
that people really didn't use this feature very much.. it's more for
power users, and even then they only really use it on portal style
pages (igoogle, netvibes)...

Orange is the first example I've seen of a corporate site using a
configurable homepage, and it's not very good. The implementation is
not great.. the IxD isn't great (the indication of what happens when
you move a content block is terribly unclear)... and, the worst part,
I don't see the point. What do I get from rearranging the home page
widgets?

I really like this feature on portal sites though.. But in our studies
we found that only power users really use it.

Matt.
