I agree with Mike; I love peer input as much as the next person but you have to involve target buyers in this discussion.
The examples provided here are a great springboard for mockup ideas. Start by asking target customers to react to product page examples or mockups (as opposed to just asking them what they want, which they may not be able to articulate). With the mockups, seek feedback about what information will move your customer closer to (or further from) making a purchasing decision...technical data sheets? Strong visuals with options for close-ups? Social proof? If you provide them with what they need to make a confident decision up front, you minimize the chances of buyer's remorse and returns. Only your customer can give you insight into what those elements are. Talk to your customer service team too, and see what kinds of commonly asked questions they get about products.
