I see emotions are running high for the most simple interface in the world
that is Google Search. I guess people are pretty attached to how things used
to work and I'm thinking how 34 emails in this thread could be turned into a
10-second conversation had things been phrased differently from the
beginning. Let's try:
<personA> I tried that Google Instant thing and didn't like it. Is there a
way to disable it?
<personB> Sure, go to the site's preferences (probably that gear in the
upper right corner) and turn it off
<personA> It works, thanks. Do I have to do that on every browser?
<personB> Probably yes. If you're logged in then it should stick.
<personA> Great, thanks again. Have a nice day!
<personB> You too, bye!
I feel for all the people working in interface design and product
development... meeting all new requirements while not changing anything must
be challenging. Glad I'm just a sysadmin :-)
