I must be missing something, I don't see a way to opt-out of instant search.

Annoying thing is hitting enter after I've typed what I want to search for,
gives different search results than if I don't type enter.

But, I'm used to typing enter for the non-instant type search.

What makes it really annoying is that just before I hit enter, I'll see
results that might be relevant...but then I hit enter and those results go
away and what I'm left with is not. And, then its try to get those results
back.

-----

Then there's the other two gripes about Google.

One is that it tells me that it searched for something other than what I
searched for, because it thinks it knows better than what I'm searching for.
And, of course, I'm searching for something SA related...and it wants to give
me nothing SA related. Or it's more interested in showing me results that
fuzzy match what I searched for rather than exactly what I searched for.

And, recently I noticed it seems to like ignore extra terms I add to the
search in the hopes to get more exact results.

-----

Amazon.com is also annoying in that it poors all kinds of fuzzy
results....especially if they don't have what I'm looking for.... though I
like that amazon prime...wish more places did it... shoprunner doesn't (free
two-day doesn't mean I'll get it in two-days, just that when they get around
to shipping it...it'll be by two-day service. OTOH, Amazon Prime will tell
you that if you order within X hours, you'll get it on Wednesday...or
whatever. So then I can plan when to place my order so that it'll arrive when
I'm taking a staycation...)

Though the search on our university site is also pretty annoying with its
fuzziness. Really bad on its people search, ranks not even close names higher
than the exact name, in too many cases. Though I'm sure the administrator of
the GSA is more to blame than the GSA....
