I can't speak specifically about that unit, but I once inherited a closet
with a large MIPS server in it, and a cooling unit that looked *just* like
that. It worked fine.

Until one day the power blipped. (~5mins I guess.) Nobody ever thought
about the AC behavior after power loss. To restore cooling, I needed to
come in to the office and press the "On" button.

That being said ...

I have also worked in some other places where budget was extremely tight. I
have used even cheaper products, such as this:

This is very much decidedly NOT meant for enterprise use. But it happens to
be self-evaporating, and you can vent it either to the outdoors, or into the
ductwork above the drop-ceiling, if that suits your needs. We used several
of these in various closet-sized rooms and it worked successfully for years,
until finally the company was shut down.

If you get the enterprise product, you know what you're getting, and that's
why you're paying.

If you get the "comfort" product, it's a calculated risk.

Either way it's a calculated risk. Enterprise products fail too. The
failure rate on cheaper products is higher.

If the enterprise product costs 5x more than the cheaper product, maybe you
want to buy the cheaper product three times, for redundancy.
