I've been to both the newseum and the spy museum.  
+1 both of them, if you are a news junkie and if you are intrigued by spycraft, 
respectively. 


Bike rentals are very easy, I leveraged one to get around on my last trip to 
DC. You can take the bike out at one station, and drop it off elsewhere. The 
mall is large, and a bike makes it very easy to get from one location to the 
next.
