I only ever see this with my gmail account, but I guess that's more a reflection of the popularity of gmail than anything else. There is a Paul Graydon in Canada that keeps using my email address in the most remarkably sensitive places. It also disturbs me quite what levels of business (and sensitivity of data) people are happy doing over public email.

That is why I said "something else must be wrong". I suspect you'll find there's a letter off somewhere else and they keep mistyping their address. (I see this quite a lot, and not just with gmail. One person I know has been trying to get such a mistake corrected for over 8 years now.)
