I just stumbled over the prosal in Area 51, and thought to icymi-post it to the

My two cents (disclaimer, I’m a moderator, since area 51 and beta, of the 
network engineering stack)…

Yes, it’s probably an overlap to some extent. SE policy has is “don’t cleave 
topical material out of one stack, to make another stack.” We worked really 
hard to establish NetEng, and we’ve had to “that’s off-topic” a lot of things 
that really could be handled on NetEng, to tow the SE line.

Meanwhile, the huge stacks like SF are just too busy to use at all. So these 
tight little topics never get any air or life.
