Hand-editing would only be necessary if you wanted perfect tags. Something like Tag&Rename could be used to search-and-replace common mistags, and that could yield "good enough". But it'll still take some time and effort, there's no getting around that. But yes, take comfort in the fact that your server is vastly overpowered and is the envy of much of the forum.
