Yes, the newer ones definitely use DHCP - it works just fine out of the box, but it's not stable. It bombs out, and it's amazing how quickly it does so - I think now the most I test it, it's actually WORSE with a static IP. I'm trying something different: giving both the player and the controller a DHCP Reservation.
