Give us some details of your system and setup, perhaps in the forum about third-party addons, and we'll see what you can do to get AlienBBC to work.
There are several places where things can go wrong. I have it working fine on my Mac, but there are several different versions of mplayer and of the necessary codec, and they don't all work well with each other and with AlienBBC. It really is an extremely useful plugin.
