Wow, I didn't expect such a backlash. If you don't want people to use
your player, maybe you shouldn't spend time developing it?

Seriously, what's with the attitude? I spend my time testing it to give
you feedback. I spend my time downloading a number of betas and alphas
and reporting back exactly what's going on, including debug output. And
then I get insulted? Gee, thanks.

Do you know why it's important for a portable to be put to sleep? So
the hard drive gets parked is the primary. Moving around a machine
while the disk is spinning isn't a good thing. If you don't care about
that, then that's your choice, but don't brush it off as insignificant.

I also didn't say anything about the issue being a show stopper. I
thought I was being nice and helpful by testing a current beta and
letting you know what the state was under specific architecture.

You should at least include a disclaimer or other warning telling
people that having this installed in Mac OS X will prevent their system
from going to sleep for 20 to 30 seconds.

BTW, I normally press the "OFF" button to tell Squeezebox Server to
disconnect from the player before sleeping the machine. Leaving it
playing while sleeping was just another test to provide you with as much
information as possible. And a you know, it doesn't make a difference
to the no-sleep whether or not Squeezeslave is playing anything.

Your program is useful, maybe you should attach a price to it if you're
disappointed that you have to burn time working on it. I'd pay for it.
