My Linksys WAG54GX2 wireless gateway router has started to overheat and power down when I connect more than one device to it now. Overheating routers is a known issue but I wondered if anyone else is having a similar problem in a music streaming context.
I have a desktop PC, laptop PC music server and a SLIMP3 connected to the router by ethernet, with an SB3 Classic and Boom on wireless. Music is usually synched across all devices. Apparently the router can't handle the throughput and dies. I'm already on my second PSU as well. Had to play some real CDs last night! Thinking of moving to a new WAG120N if it's EOL for the existing unit. Any ideas / comments? Thanks GRC -- GRC -Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it ...- And if it matters ...
