B) That is useful, but I think there is value to having one of the IR blasters in the remote. "Oh no, I can't control this TV because I moved it onto the porch to watch the game because I don't have an IR blaster on the porch" Somewhat silly example, but I think it will be common that people won't always have a fixed IR blaster wherever they have an IR controllable device.
