hunta is right, the file is downloaded untouched, i.e. it is a 1:1 copy. In 0.9.6, you will have the option to transcode files on-the-fly while downloading (e.g. download FLACs as MP3s) when using a SBS 7.6. I'm not sure if SBS adds the correct tags to the MP3 in this case...
