party offering exists, Logitech will limit themselves to the basic
functionality because they aren't ready to invest enough to maintain
all the extras, so third party solutions will always offer something
more. We have seen exactly the same thing earlier with SlimScrobbler
plugin and also with Spotify plugin.

The issue, as already mentioned earlier in this thread, is that some
users are going to be satisfied with the basics and won't buy the third
party offering when they can get the basics for free from Logitech. The
result on longer terms could be that third party developers no longer
feel that it's worth to compete with Logitech since a significant part
of their income probably comes from the users that deside to use the
Logitech provided solution.

So, even though a Logitech provided Android app might feel like a good
idea, I am a bit worried about the consequences on longer terms.
Hopefully I'm just unnecessary worried, but...

It would feel a lot better if Logitech tried to work together with
third parties instead of competing with them since they both want the
same thing, more Squeezebox customers.
