given your described needs, and based only on what I've read, I'd say
the SONOS system would work perfectly for you.  At least one of the
players needs to be connected to your router (or you need the bridge).
Otherwise SONOS creates its own WIFI network (different from your
regular WIFI).  Or one can also connect the players with ethernet. See

p.s. I have a major SB setup but don't plan on getting rid of anything.
Even if I had to switch to something like SONOS for music
services/internet radio, I'd still need the SB stuff for my main local
music playback (as I have way too many files for the SONOS).
