Hmm. I guess we all agree a factory reset option, with some physical means, is needed in the general public version of the device ? Also in the list of buttons we don't care about but some people will clamor for is a physical rf-kill button. No, a software rf-kill menu won't do, for some it is not radical enoughÂ… (although I would guess that on laptops, the physical button is in fact routed to a general-purpose switch which gets polled.)
(also, I know of a curious way to prompt reset on some internet boxes, with physical interaction, without reset button. The routine is to repeatedly -3 or 5 times- power on and quickly off the box by plugging/removing the wall wart. I suppose this increments a (failed) boot counter, and prompts selecting the factory firmware. That's scary and messy -IMHO- but it does work and doesn't kill the box in the processÂ…) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881
