I have a Transporter as my main unit, with a Radio and a Duet servicing auxiliary spaces. I also have two Touches, as yet unused, in their boxes, awaiting deployment.
Aside from sound quality issues (I am obviously not qualified from personal experience), I would say go for the Transporter for the build quality and the cool factor -- but if cost is a factor, it 's hard to see the Touch as a bad choice.
