There is no such person as the average user, even if there were we couldn't know other people's wishes. If you want to advocate a feature, tell us _why_you_ need it, not that other people surely must need it.
That aside, my non-technical friends do fine with the SB's own interface (remote), less so with the web interface. I can assure you they don't know the difference between transcoded and native tracks, neither in theory nor in practise. C.
