Keep in mind that any 'old' laptop or pc (including e-Vectra) is likely to support only USB 1.1
Not great if you plan to use external USB drive.
I used to run SlimServer 24/7 on Thinkpad T21 for few months. During this time I had to replace the hard disk twice. It could be just bad luck, but I am more happy with the e-Vectra solution myself.
