Why do you think they would do those things when it would likely result in far fewer sales?  Presumably they purchased SD based on their audiophile reputation.  It seems unlikely to me that they would soil it.  I'm guessing they'll leave SD to operate themselves as long as they turn good profits.

I've just purchased a Harmony 525 remote - it's not the remote as such
(though I've only had it a few days), it's the astonishingly,
egregiously BAD software.

I know SlimServer is open source/GPL/whatever but if Logitech's
'developers' get near it then I'd fear the worst...

They're also likely to downgrade components - once a cheap'n'cheerful
peripherals purveyor...
