First, thanks to those who replied to my question. Second, sounds like there's a consensus that Spinpoints are the quietest out there. Third, as far as I can tell from websurfing and the replies I've gotten on this forum, the Samsungs only come as internals and that the user must combine it with the proper enclosure, damping gizmos, etc, to use it as an external drive. To be honest, I'm nervous about doing this, since I'm a rank amateur and don't know anything about computer installation etc. Does anyone out there know of a supplier for Spinpoints already enclosed for external use? Fourth, and finally, anybody know anything about Glyph drives? They're supposed to be used in recording/studio settings and to be quiet and enclosed in damped cases.
