The cost of things, especially specialist luxury items like the Transporter are higher in the UK (and the rest of Europe to a certain extent) because of the following reasons compared to the US: Taxes are higher (VAT) Taxes are higher (company tax) The cost of business is generally higher (Wages, rents, electricity, etc) The US is less afluent at the moment
And here is the killer point: The transporter can be sold at 1700, because thats what the market values it at.
