With one very important difference - in the beginning the concept of
the album was just that - albums generally encompassed a theme and were
meant to be enjoyed in their entirety to fully appreciate the artist's
work whereas today's mass-market, one hit wonder crap lends itself to
sale of single tracks - the cd's are exactly that - a collection of
singles with very little common thread (besides frequent lack of
artistic ability).
