I think the fundamental thing is that the Duet is designed to compete with the Sonos, but most of us who are here already considered the Sonos and rejected it. I didn't (and don't) want a fancy one-use remote (semi-relatedly, the Harmony One that Logitech announced today looks highly excellent); I do want a device with a screen and visual feedback.
