Actually the problem is the braindead automatic Compilation detection in SqueezeServer. (They should add a switch to disable it!!!)
If you have an album by Artist A, and just one track is played by guest artist B, the album is listed/sorted as compilation. Thanks to your links I've found that you can control this by adding the (nonstandard) TCP or TCMP MP3 compilation field and set it to false, thereby telling SqueezeBox that this is really NOT a compilation.
