So, did enyone ever come up with a reasonably priced auto-sensing amp, tone controls or otherwise? I guess the T-amp would work, the price is right, and the tiny current draw mostly eliminates the need for the auto shutoff. Low power output is a potential issue, but I suppose for listening most of the time.... There are plenty of amps out there, but how to shut them on/off? Also, many are several hundreds of $$. The only other idea I have is to use a Smart Strip by Bits-ltd (power strip/surge protector). It senses A/C current one one outlet (in this case the SB), and turns on a couple other outlets (in this case, the Amp).
