Pippin, have you seen SimplifyMedia in action on an iPhone/iPod Touch? I know that this has nothing to do with using Squeezecenter but it does actually allow streaming audio on the iPhone. I have sat in San Francisco and streamed music (mp3) from my home server in Hong Kong via my iPod Touch with no problems.
