And as people jump on me, I start to remember more. It's true, you don't *need* a management server, I sorta recall a basic web interface to ESX, that required IE for machine creation? I no longer have a test machine, but remember being very frustrated trying to work with it from linux. And you do need the management server for the advanced features. From customers, VARs, and VMware employees. Until vmware actually releases it, there's no credibility here. Anyhow, I'm sorry for spreading FUD and mis-information.
