And as people jump on me, I start to remember more. It's true, you don't
*need* a management server, I sorta recall a basic web interface to ESX,
that required IE for machine creation? I no longer have a test machine,
but remember being very frustrated trying to work with it from
linux. And you do need the management server for the advanced
features. I think you may as well just run GSX without it.

Huh. I wonder why I forget this. Sorry for the mis-information.

Now this, I take issue with. I've been hearing rumors to this effect for
over 5 years. From customers, VARs, and VMware employees. Until vmware
actually releases it, there's no credibility here.

Anyhow, I'm sorry for spreading FUD and mis-information. And though I
think the vmware enterprise product is very nice, I encourage people to
look hard at it, and whether or not it's requirements fit with your
organization.
