Hi folks,
With the release of Leopard just around the corner, does anyone among
the testers know if Braille is supported? Just a yes or no will do,
I'm not asking you to break your NDAs. How well supported is Brille,
as many of you know, Braille support is a major feature of Jaws and
Window Eyes, allowing you to monitor the system in Braille as well as
all the applications including word processors etc.
Those of you who use Braile will understand how important it is for
us to know which Braille Displays are supported, and how much support
we are getting. I heard on this list a long while back, that limited
Braille support was available in Termial. Has Braille support gone
system and application wide now in Leopard?
Just imagine for a second, Mac has slowly been regaining its hold on
the Education market, through people like yourselves putting the Mac
forward as a tool for students, doing what it says on the tin -
getting the job done. But if students going to University in
September are being swayed to use mac, many of them will probably be
Braille users. It would not be good for them to purchase an expensive
Braille notetaker, only to find that it either does not work at all
with Mac, or only has very limited support.
Again as I'm sure many of you can appreciate, this is a prressing
concern for many Braille users, not only on this list, but also for
potential Mac users.
Thanks
James
