thinking about it, most of my serious text reading gets done with
that command.
Yes, it's messy, but I've found it to be more reliable.
The other thing I do when reading web pages is keep a text editor
of some sort open, in my case, smultron. If I want to get fancy or
if Safari's doing something strange with a web page I'm trying to
read, I'll select all, copy, switch to a blank text editor document
and paste.
