YOu can also press esc to unhighlight a selection. I've done this while not interacting with the particular view in the Finder window and it deselects what you've selected...

Hi all,

Scott said: Now, why I say do nothing upon entering your home folder, cause as soon as you move the arrow keys or VO-keys to navigate, you've highlighted a folder and if you press the command for new folder, you will creat a folder within the highlighted folder.

• Actually Scott, this is only true in Column mode. If you are in Icon or List mode, the new folder will still be created at root level.

Scott also said: You are suposed to be able to press command +option+control+f4 to unhighlight a folder, but doesn't work for me for some reason, thus is why I pointed out those steps on avoiding highlighting something once you enter the home folder.

• I haven't tested this on a full keyboard but deselecting with fn +control+option+cmd+f4 does work on my MacBook.

Later...
