Dan, the only really affordable broadcasting solution I've found is
NiceCast from www.rogueamoeba.com . Although the program seems pretty
accessible, it's not as good as Sam Audio Broadcaster which I use on
the PC. My main gripe with NiceCast is that I can't adjust my volume
in iTunes (this is usually where the music is streamed from) without
the volume of the stream being changed. So, if I turn my volume down
to read something with VoiceOver, my listeners hear the drop as well.
There may well be a way to get around this, however, I hav'nt found
it yet. My other complaint is that if you want to break in with an
announcement, or voice over, well, there's no easy way to do it.
Maybe I'm just spoiled with Sam where I had a keyboard shortcut to
duck the audio and allow me to say something.
If anyone out there is using NiceCast and is able to contradict me,
please do so as I think it's a great product if only I could work out
some of these smaller issues.
HTH,
Steve

Hey all, well, I haven't got a mac as of yet, reason being is I'm
still asking questions, and finding information to prepare to get
one. I like to do online broadcasting, and of course, using the PC
now to do it. What is there in the way of software available for the
mac to do this?
