Syncing my I Pod

Listers I was wondering if this could be accomplished with a I Pod  
Mini and I Tunes. I want a way to delete songs from the mini so when I  
sync my I Pod it will erase what is on there and replace it with the  
new stuff that has downloaded to I Tunes. What do you guys do to  
accomplish this?
