Hi,
In Voiceover utility which you access with Voiceover keys plus f8, you
can set Voiceover to read formating information. I've just done it
myself for the same reasons you have mentioned. Voiceover reads font
size and colour. I haven't tried indents and therefore can't comment
on those but you can simply try it. Oops, I've forgotten you haven't
bought your Mac yet. I use Nisus Writer Pro as a word processor which
is pretty accessible with Voiceover. I also know a blind student who's
been using Nisus Writer Pro to write his dissertation so it must be
pretty good ALSO FOR FOOTNOTES AND THINGS LIKE HTAT. TABLES ARE A
PROBLEM THOUGH.
HOPE THIS HELPS. OTHERS WILL CERTAINLY CHIP IN.
BEST WISHES
SIMON

Hi list,
As a potential mac switcher, I have a few questions about creating
complex
word documents. I was hoping you could shed some light on this
subject for
me.
If using voice over, is it possible to determine how a document is
formatted? In other words, can you tell when text is indented, when
the font
style changes, and what portions are underlined, bolded, etc?
Also, is there a way to read foot notes?
I briefly looked over the voice over manual and do not see any of this
information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
