Speaking of supported scanners, has anybody gotten the HP Scanjet 3970
to work? A few months ago, I searched the HP site and it seems like
the driver was for an older operating system like Mac OS 9 or
something. Whenever I tried to run the installer with Voiceover, my
machine grinded to a hault. Because of this, I still need to use
Windows for scanning documents.

you need to be certain that your scanner is supported on the Mac and
that
should be all.

I'm using a HP scanner. I didn't thought it would make any differences
to the scanner program which driver I'm using.

If you are using a canon canolide scanner, there scangeer driver is
useless with VO. Well it isn't quite that, but the only thing you
can't click is the scan button. You have to move to where it says
"scan" Then move your finger to the extreme right of the trackpad
and move it down a little, then click. Sounds hard, but once you get
it your usually okay.
Mind you, I can't find a support site to contact the developers
directly. Canon support are useless.

Readiris has a full set of menus with shortcuts for quite a few of
