Darcy, have you tried Call Recorder for recording Skype calls? If not it can be found at ecamm.com.

Hi Tiffanitsa. Yes, audio hijack pro can definitely record from the line in. It's also great for recording streaming audio. You can schedule it to record at specific times. It's also great at recording skype calls, which is primarily what I use it for. If any or all of these things are important to you, then it might be worth the $32. I'd suggest getting the demo version, and see if it meets your needs.

I love cassettes and records but want to record mine onto my Mac for
safe keeping. Usually, I record something from the computer onto a
tape with a patch cord and headphones. But when I tried the reverse,
I couldn't hear what I was trying to tape. I was using TapeDeck and
they also didn't have an option for recording from the microphone jack
(I'm guessing it's the line-in). That's something I'll ask the
manufacturer about. Anyway, does anyone know of a free program
that'll allow me to do this? I know of Audio Hijack Pro, but that's
not free. If I did get it though, is it really good for recording
streaming media like radio stations? I could just use TapeDeck and
record from the speakers with no problems, but I'm curious.

Thanks,
