Sometimes there is an alert message that prompts you to perform specific actions. You will have to use Vo keys plus left arrow, till you hear VoiceOver read the text in the window. When you press the Okay, Button, unless you read the alert message, it assumes that you want to ignore the message and close the window. It has to search the disk in order to configure itself so it can play the disk in question. HTH. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.

Hi all. First, thanks for the kind words on the blind cool tech podcast, I'm glad everyone is enjoying it. I do have a question about playing dvds that I can't figure out. When I insert a DVD, then open dvd player, the computer seems to hang. Voice over says that an ok button has the keyboard focus and that I'm in a dialog, but I can't read the window. If I press space to select the ok button, dvd player closes and I'm returned to the applications folder. I've tried changing the setting in system preferences that indicates what will happen when a DVD is inserted, that didn't help. I also tried to access it with front row, and again, the computer seemed to hang. This is a store bought disk, and it plays fine on my PC, so I know the disk is fine.
