Mike, DVD player should open automatically so I suspect something is going on with either your system or your drive. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Arrigo" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "General discussions on all topics relating to the use of Mac OS Xby theblind" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 27, 2008 7:56 PM Subject: playing a dvd
Hi all. First, thanks for the kind words on the blind cool tech podcast, I'm glad everyone is enjoying it. I do have a question about playing dvds that I can't figure out. When I insert a DVD, then open dvd player, the computer seems to hang. Voice over says that an ok button has the keyboard focus and that I'm in a dialog, but I can't read the window. If I press space to select the ok button, dvd player closes and I'm returned to the applications folder. I've tried changing the setting in system preferences that indicates what will happen when a DVD is inserted, that didn't help. I also tried to access it with front row, and again, the computer seemed to hang. This is a store bought disk, and it plays fine on my PC, so I know the disk is fine.
