What i do when i want to select text in Mail is the following.
1: put yourself at the beginning of the line you want to start
selecting from, you can also vo+right or left arrow to the word from
which you want to select text.
2: press vo+return, Voiceover should say "start selecting" or
something like that.
3: navigate with vo+up/down/left/right arrows to the point at which
you want to stop selecting and hit vo+return again. Vo should say
"stop selecting".
Check that you have selected what you want by pressing vo+f6.

Is there a way to select text in mail? I have been just selecting
all, and pasting the contents of the message in to Text Edit, then
selecting the needed text that way. But there must be an easier way
that I'm not thinking of.
