Hello Natalie, congrads on the Birthday present. You must be one
special lady to get such a nice gift, I sure wish someone would give
me a Macbook. grin.
In any event, no, you shouldn't have any difficulty connecting your
Mac to the wireless or wired network. Matter of fact, if you have
already setup your machine, it likely has already found the network,
but if your having specific issues, please explain and I'll do my very
best to assist you. I will not deny the fact there is a learning
curve, but trust me, you will master VoiceOver quickly with a little
effort on your part and I think you will find yourself making the move
to the Mac. One thing you should consider doing is forcing yourself to
use the machine because this really is the only way you can truly
learn and appreciate your Mac. It isn't so bad and I made the switch
several years ago. I was fortunate in that I knew Linux so was a
little more comfortable with some aspects of the Os, but there still
was quite a learning curve.
Just keep asking questions and I know folks will do their best to help.

Hi everyone. My name is Natalie, and I just got a Mac book last
weekend for a birthday present. i know nothing about Macs so
learning the key commands for voiceover has taken me longer than it
should, but I haven't had a whole lot of time to play with the Mac
much either. That brings me to my question. I still don't have it
hooked up to the net yet, and am still using a Windows desktop for
email and stuff which I do plan to keep. Are wireless routers
really difficult to set up and install and stuff? I can't decide if
I want to buy a wireless router and keep my current Internet
provider or if I want to switch to the wireless USB card things that
Verizon has which I do have my cell phone through. Any thoughts
would be great, I would just like to get the Mac on the net soon so
I can learn and do more with it.
